Making the Most of Worlds

That’s right, we are moments away from Worlds! It’s time to get hyped, because the biggest street dance event of the year has landed in Glasgow’s SEC. How are you going to make the most of it? Here are our suggestions…

For Dancers…

Remember that this is the highlight of the year for so many reasons. Yes, you’ve worked your hardest to learn your routines, and you want to get that choreography locked down. Of course you’re hungry to win, but don’t forget that there are so many other opportunities coming your way at the World Championships. Over 35 countries will be represented, so you’ll get to meet and learn from international dancers. Take note of your favourite performers of the day by asking yourself what draws you to them: their technique? Their style? Their music, maybe? Whatever it is, enjoy the opportunity to learn from others you wouldn’t otherwise have met. Worlds is a global celebration of street dance, so make sure that you take it all in. Remember, you get access to exclusive UDO workshops with your dancer pass, so don’t miss out on the chance to learn from the best in the business!

For families…

Although Worlds can feel like it’s going 100 miles an hour, don’t shy away from it. There will be stalls to visit throughout the day, so that children and adults alike can have a look around to see what’s on offer. Our entertainment this year is all about bringing you the best dance performances, so we’ve secured showcases from the iconic Twist and Pulse for the Friday night, and Flawless will be closing the show on Sunday. Check out the workshops too; even if siblings of competitors don’t dance in the competition, there will still be opportunities to learn from our world-renowned judges in a workshop class. The range of workshop styles will suit every dancer, so why not give it a go?

For teachers…

Firstly: congratulations on training a team up for Worlds! Secondly: we wish you the best of luck at competition. We understand the pressure you feel, and we want to remind you that making it this far is a huge achievement regardless of the outcome. We know that your teams will make you proud, and you’ll love watching them all bond over the experience of competing at a global street dance event.

For everyone else!

To all our helpers, volunteers, MCs, judges, staff, and supporters, we want to say a huge thank you in advance for all your hard work. The excitement is building, and we can already feel the team rallying together to make our farewell to Glasgow a good one. We’ll see you at the after party…
